Our days are a kaleidoscope. Every instant a change takes place, new harmonies, new contrasts, new combinations... Nothing ever happens twice alike. The most familiar people stand each moment exemplifying infinite diversities. -Henry Ward Beecher
This colorful and kaleidoscopic necklace is uniquely made by artisans in India from recycled Kantha textiles, wrapped around wooden beads of graduating size, spaced with tiny gold beads.
Kantha is a quilt like fabric made from sari garments stitched together. Because kantha fabric uses layers of sari, kantha quilts are unique reflections of the individuality of their makers. Saris are considered to be one of the oldest types of garment, worn in India for over 5,000 years.
Allow this colorful necklace to remind you of the beauty of the kaleidoscopic diversity of humanity, and the power of the creative spirit to transform raw material into art.
WorldFinds is a collective of women artisans from India, producing Fair Trade products out of sustainable materials, with the goal of supporting women, sending children to school, and improving education and healthcare accessibility.
